I am thrilled to see Claire Whisker, founder of First In The Door, quoted in The Telegraph this weekend in an insightful piece on the growing trend of younger downsizers.
Claire shared her experience of working with a rising number of clients in their 30s and 40s making the strategic decision to downsize - often driven by the escalating cost of education. Many are relocating to sought-after towns and villages across Kent, Sussex and Surrey, with a clear goal: to reduce overheads and simplify their lives.
In Claire’s words, “They all have children at private school – and half of them are putting them in state schools by September.” Alongside school fees, heating bills, cleaning and ongoing maintenance are key drivers behind their desire to cut down on square footage.
